Less Clutter, More Confidence. Choosing what’s right for me means shopping smarter!

Updated: May 21

"Hi everyone! I want to talk about something we do every single day that is actually a lot more important than we think: choosing what to wear.

If you feel like getting dressed is tricky or overwhelming, please know that’s completely normal. It’s a skill, just like anything else! At first, it takes time, but I promise that with a little patience, you’ll become a total pro at shopping for yourself.

Choosing What’s Right for You: A Journey of Style and Soul
Choosing What’s Right for You: A Journey of Style and Soul

Start With Self-Discovery

To really understand what suits us—the colors and shapes that make us feel great—we have to start by looking at ourselves a little more closely. Please, don’t be afraid to do that.

When we’re young, it’s hard! We’re experimenting, and the world around us has such a huge influence. But as we grow up, we finally get the chance to understand what we actually like. This is a journey worth taking.

Teaching Our Children

This is a gift we can pass down, too. Imagine if we taught our children to choose responsibly from the start! It’s not about how much they have, but how much they love what they own. Even at two years old, we can start giving them little choices. When they help pick their clothes, they aren't just getting dressed—they’re building confidence and learning how to express who they are.

The Wardrobe Audit

So, if you’re ready to start, here is my advice: Go slowly.

Start by going through your wardrobe and being really honest with yourself. Look for the clothes you wear most often—the ones that feel like 'jewelry' for your soul. When you find those favorites, look for the patterns. What colors are they? What shapes? Those are your clues! Take your time.

The Honest Wardrobe

If you’re ready to start, go slowly. Open your wardrobe and be honest with yourself.

  • Find Your 'Daily Jewelry': Look for the clothes you wear most often. These are like jewelry for your body—they make you feel special and comfortable. When you pick them out, you’ll start to see a pattern in the colors and shapes you naturally love.

  • The Phone List: Open your notes app and make two columns: Needs vs. Wants. For me, a Need is black jeans or socks because I wear them every day. A Want might be something like a neck massager—I’m curious about it, I fancy it, but I don’t need it, I am not sure if really going to use or I just use first month and the just going to be an object rest in some place, so for that reason i am not going to buy.

  • Where you going to put? To make sure that item has a good spot, think about where it will go and whether it will be easy to reach. Look at the possible options in your home and make sure it’s easy to take out, easy to put away and won’t get forgotten.

Shopping with Purpose

When you identify a 'Need,' get specific! If you need socks, ask yourself: What length? What material? What color?

By doing this research, you keep your mind occupied and focused. It helps stop that 'compulsive' urge to buy. If you’re out shopping and feel tempted, check your list! Buy your necessities first, or add that 'want' to the list to think and rethink it later.

The Heart of the Matter, your Style is not Superficial.

Mastering your style is about so much more than fashion or trends. It’s about surrounding yourself with objects that bring you genuine happiness rather than a temporary distraction. We often use 'stuff' to fill emotional gaps—like stress or loneliness—but true confidence comes from curation, not accumulation.

Be sincere with yourself. If the clutter feels overwhelming, remember that asking for help is the first step toward a clearer space and a clearer mind.

Our Freedom, Our Planet

Nowadays, we are freer than ever to choose who we want to be. Let’s make the most of that freedom! Take your time, think and rethink through your options, and choose with love/patience. When we choose better, we don’t just save ourselves stress—we avoid creating waste for our beautiful planet Earth.

Don’t rush. Be patient, take a deep breath, and above all, be kind to yourself."
